What Is First Class MLM?

Can I share my goals with you?

One of the biggest challenges in network marketing is the negative perception the public has about our great industry. Now, a new MLM training and prospecting website to share with skeptical and biased prospects is available to all network marketers.

People who get my newsletters and listen to my conference calls know that I love MLM and also know how devoted I am to helping people succeed at it.

My goal for 2008 is to aggressively alter the perception of the MLM industry on the Internet.

This month’s article is about two things:

1. A free resource that I’ve created for you to use with your prospects, downline and naysayers.

2. A request for your assistance in moving the network marketing industry up and forward.

The free resource – FirstClassMLM.com

Please read this newsletter fully before going to the website – I need you to understand what we ALL must do.

Currently, when you show your prospect MLM they will often go to Google and type in “MLM” or “network marketing” and press the enter key. The first several sites that are presented are anti-MLM sites. In case you’re unaware, for every subject on the Internet there are those who are against that subject – these people are called “anti-{subject}.”

Often your prospects do not realize that there is an “anti” group for every subject. They just click on the first few websites and read negative comments about MLM. Those prospects rarely call you back or return any of your calls – so you never know what happened to them. If you do reach them, they are appalled that you are trying to get them into a “scam”. Frequently prospects will simply reply via email to you with a link to one of the anti-MLM sites. This causes you to go to the site and read it. Now you have that negative sentiment running around in your head. If this hasn’t happened to you, it’s probably happening to your downline.

Designed as an MLM training and prospecting resource, I’ve been working for the past year to create a website to solve this problem. FirstClassMLM is a site that helps a person research the truth (good and bad) about MLM. Here’s my vision(s) of the way you will use it.

  1. A prospect emails you a link to an anti-MLM site – you reply to them with a link to FirstClassMLM.com
  2. Your downline comments to you about “all the negativity on MLM” on the Internet – you tell them to go to FirstClassMLM.com
  3. Your family cuts you down for being in MLM – you say, “There are slimy hotels and first class hotels like the Ritz Carlton – same with MLM – go to FirstClassMLM.com”
  4. When a person types in “MLM” into Google, one of the first sites they see is FirstClassMLM, thereby never getting that “negative view”.

That last vision (4) requires your help; let me explain.

How do the “anti-MLM” sites get to the top of a search at Google? Few people know this answer. Most people think it’s because “the sites at the top are the most popular websites.”Not true. I’m going to briefly explain one of the primary ways Google decides “who’s at the top” of their search pages.

The people who work at Google know they can’t correctly guess the industry experts in EVERY industry. Their view is that only the people in the industry can determine who the leaders are for their industry. Therefore, Google looks to see which websites [in each industry] have the most websites linking to them. Yes, I said that correctly. You see, their view is that if a website has great content, then many people will go to that site plus, people who own websites about that industry will LINK to the site that has the greatest content.

You may recall being on a website and seeing a menu tab or link somewhere that reads, “Resources” or “Other links.” Then on that page there are several links to other websites within the same industry. This is an example of how websites link to other websites they think have valuable content.

Another way to link to a site is called a contextual link. This is a less obvious link. That is, in a paragraph within a website it will read something like, as the article here states, MLM was proven not to be a pyramid. This is a less obvious link because it’s buried inside an article.

Another type of link is a graphic link. This is where you use a graphic (image) on your website and make the graphic (or part of it) a link. In other words, all or part of the image can be a link to another website, yet its not obvious unless you hold your mouse over the image and the cursor changes into a little pointing hand. This can be done in such a way that most would not know there’s a link there.

Regardless of which type of link is used, this is how we (as a team) beat the anti-MLM group because this is one of the main ways Google and other search engines determine which sites are at the top of their search engine.

The reason the anti-MLM websites have the highest positions in the search engines is NOT because they’re the most popular, but because several people (a handful) have written anti-MLM articles and have linked to other anti-MLM article websites. This makes it appear that there are more people against MLM than for it!

If we are to change the perception of the MLM industry on the Internet it will only happen if WE work together to get one or two sites to the top of the search engines so that when a prospect searches for MLM, they go to a neutral site (not anti-MLM and not hype MLM). Right now, they will either find an anti-MLM site, a competing distributor’s site or a hype-MLM site. None of these are desirable if we want to change the perception of the industry.

This should make you mad
Here’s the biggest challenge we face in MLM becoming popular and accepted on the Internet. Each person in MLM is interested in building their business and not building the industry as a whole. An Amway distributor does not want to link to an Herbalife distributor’s website – nor should he! But this is the EXACT reason the anti-MLM people are kicking our butts! There are 30 million people doing MLM and only about 20 people trying to harm the MLM industry with their anti-MLM sites – but those 20 people appear more popular because they’ve grouped together and the 30 million people in MLM have acted as individuals!

So my vision with FirstClassMLM is to create a site for the industry. It will not work if the industry doesn’t do their part though. If you only send prospects there – you’ve helped yourself and your prospect – not the industry as a whole. I’m not suggesting you not use the site that way – I’ve worked really hard on it so you can use it to get your prospects past the negativity. But please, if you have a website, link to the FirstClassMLM.com site from your website. You will be helping the whole industry by raising FirstClassMLM in the search engines so it will be seen by prospects who are researching the industry.

I am aware that this might be technically challenging for some, therefore I’ve alerted my technical staff to be on standby to answer your questions. Don’t be ashamed of not knowing how – but do use this opportunity to learn how to do it.

Alright, the second part that needs your help is the articles themselves. Each article on FirstClassMLM represents an answer to an objection, a question or a claim an anti-MLM website has stated. At the bottom of each article is a place to write comments. Your comments will be seen by all prospects, families, business associates, investors and anti-MLM people. Your comments also help Google determine who to put at the top of their search engine (more on that below).

So I’m asking you to read each article (you will learn a lot!) and then make a comment. What comments am I looking for? Your honest thoughts. They can be quick comments like: “Great explanation!” They can be comments of agreement – “Wow, I’ve seen exactly what is stated in this article at the bank I work for!” Or they can be comments that challenge the article.

What we all want to see is every article on the site with many comments written by real people like you. This shows Google, every prospect researching MLM, as well as the Attorney Generals that this is where the industry goes to get non-hype information about the MLM industry.

This is how we change the perception of the industry – please help me.

Steps to take:

  1. Go to http://www.FirstClassMLM.com
  2. As you read an article, leave thoughtful comments while they’re fresh in your mind.
  3. Link to the site from your website – if you have questions on how to do something, call my staff at 888-307-7104 or 801-374-2188.
  4. Ask every person in MLM you know to help with this.

While this may not be the typical MLM training tip that you are used to receiving from me I know it will go a long way in helping to build a more realistic image of our industry and ultimately help you to grow your MLM business.

From my heart, thank you.

    Tim,

I am highly pleased with your efforts to help ‘everyone’ in the M.L.M. industry – no matter their product/service. Thank you for all you do for the industry. Besides my ‘day job’ being a pyramid also they are MLM too! The engineering company I work at wants me to help ‘market’ their company so we can bring in new clients / expand business. My position with the company is as a computer design technician, not their marketing department. Sure I should portray the company by being a good employee, but it isn’t my duty to market the company, that is what the marketing dept staff is paid for.

I will link to FirstClassMLM.com from ALL of my non-re-directing websites!

Thank you for providing all the great products you have. With over 30,000,000 people in the industry – that has to say that something is good about it. If it was just 30 people maybe that would be a different story.

My bookshelves contain many of your products, including multiples, to share with my team.

May you be blesses with long prosperity. I am blessed with being within 30 minutes of your supply warehouse for immediate pickup of your great tools!

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for my first email newsletter of 2008, on the components parts of a presentation, although, before I signed up to receive your newsletter, I read all of your previous newsletters (76… I think) and all of the FirstClassMLM.com articles that I heard about on the December audio.

On the email you say that “presentation” is now your focus for awhile, and you ask this,

    “Ultimately where are we headed?

    Training.

You’re paid in this industry for being great at training – not recruiting and not presenting.

If I have 100,000 people in my downline and I personally brought in 1000 of them … that means that I brought in 1% of my downline.

Are you starting to get the impact of what good training means, versus good recruiting?

After I talk with someone, maybe after the “pyramid” issue pops up, if the conversation can’t move forward and it becomes obvious that I’m talking to the wrong person, I move on.

We remain as friends, but we do not discuss what they “think

they know is wrong with mlm, since they do not want to discuss what I “know

    is accurate about mlm.

Now I think what I “know” is about to improve and become more substantive because I have tapped into your “gold mine” of info.

    After reading your “gold dust

free info of previous newsletters, I can just imagine how much I will “know

    after digesting your “gold nugget

    paid info.

“Imagine” is a nice word, isn’t it? It allows for any possibility.

    Thanks again,
    Art

Tim, This attention to the negativity is much needed and overdue in this industry. I will participate. Linda

  4. Carl Reed Says:

Tim, I have wasted the last two years of my MLM business reading information from many ‘gurus’ in this industry. All I can say is all the contradicting advice has confused me and prevented me from advancing and growing my business. I have finally found the one person who makes this industry simple and easy to understand, thank you so much.

I will be training all of my prospects with your material only.

  5. John Morgan Says:

    Tim,

Just like Carl, I have also wasted a lot of time and money on trying to find out how to promote my MLM business on the internet. My conclusion is that no one seems to know what the hell to do with this animal at this time.

You seem to be on the right track to getting an organized approach for the online MLM community. I will do what I can to support you in this approach since it can only help all of us out in the long run. I am going to be using your training material with my downline as well as sending all new prospects to FirstClassMLM.com. Glad to help

    John
