The Values Of A Network Marketer
Today is September 11. It was just four short years ago today that terrorists attacked not just our cities and our people, but our very way of life.
You see these evildoers cannot (and probably never will be able to) comprehend what is ingrained in the very fabric of our society – what it is that makes this country so great. It’s a sad fact that some people will attack that which they do not understand.
What am I talking about?
From the very beginnings of our country, it has been our core values that have propelled the American people from a loosely-knit 13 colonies to the most powerful country on the planet.
There are religious, societal and business values we hold near and dear, but I’m writing today about two values network marketers can easily relate to and cherish. The first is “self-determination.”
My dictionary tells me self-determination is:
1. Determination of one’s own fate or course of action without compulsion; free will.
2. Freedom of the people of a given area to determine their own political status; independence.
Here’s another word that goes hand-in-hand with self- determination. It’s “capitalism.”
My dictionary tells me capitalism is:
An economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development is proportionate to the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market.
The underlying theme for both self-determinaton and capitalism is “freedom.”
Who better than you, the network marketer, exemplify all that is meant by freedom. You have chosen to be your own boss. Not an easy choice. You rely on a system that rewards you for hard work. Again, not an easy choice, but one you can surely be proud of. You win or lose, profit or fail, sink or swim by your own decisions, your own determination.
Freedom, of any kind, cannot be had without a struggle. You already know that. My thought for you today is never give up. Our Founding Fathers never gave up some 230 years ago. They paid for our freedom with their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. Today the men and women of our armed forces sacrifice no less.
To build your network marketing business, you must sacrifice too. Or shall I say you must invest – your time, your energy, your smarts and your determination.
Terrorists despise freedom. So can governments. While you still have some freedoms, fight for them, make good use of them and profit because of them.
