My first presentation in network marketing (or anywhere for that matter) was way back in December of 1989.
The lady leading the Saturday training meeting stepped off the stage and said, "I'd like to introduce some of our new people." I was sitting in the front row and she handed me the microphone...
Then the "wheels started coming off the wagon"...
- I stood up, turned around, and froze solid...
- Not one thing came out of my mouth at all...
- I could hear the laughter from the room, and heard the lady say, "While he's thinking about what his name is, let me introduce Rick."
Then she moved to someone else. Opportunity blown.
But, losing an opportunity like that because I was "tripping over my feet" only made sure I didn't make that same mistake twice.
Since that time I've done thousands of presentations ranging from one person (meaning a one-on-one) up to 25,000 people in a convention center.
But here's the shocker...
My presentation style and technique were not born out of any desire to be a speaker at all.
My style of presenting came from a desire to speak one-on-one with every person. It didn't take me long to figure out that I didn't have time to do only one-on-ones, so I started to combine a couple of people in the same room, and still try to maintain the feeling of speaking one-on-one.
That graduated to ten to fifteen people at an in-home presentation, which then expanded to where nobody's house we knew was big enough to fit all of us, so we rented lunch rooms at country clubs and hotel meeting rooms.
At the same time people were requesting me to come to Chicago, San Francisco, and Houston.
Pretty soon it dawned on me...
I just couldn't do it all...
I needed leverage.
To gain that necessary leverage, I needed to teach some of my downline to be presenters themselves.
I was flying from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. at the time and had outlined on a piece of paper a plan of how to teach others to present. It seemed very, very simple... at the time.
But over the course of several months I learned a great deal on the subject of teaching others how to present.
As I reflect back on my naiveté, it reminds me of one of my favorite Mark Twain quotes:
"A man who carries a cat by the tail
learns something he can learn no other way."
I'm sorry to admit to you that, as a young boy growing up in Tennessee, I have actually tried to carry a cat by the tail, and therefore I've learned what there was to learn from the pain in that adventure.
I also have a "certificate" of eight claw marks and two fangs that run down my forearm that proves my education.
And in a similar way, I know presenting and how to teach it. I have similar painful scars from countless hours of testing and teaching to prove it. You see, the purpose for teaching someone how to present was so they could replace me "doing" it.
Let me repeat that: The purpose for teaching someone how to present was then and is today so they could replace me doing it.
In other words, to gain that needed leverage. The same leverage I want to give you access to right now. I must warn you though, what you will learn here may conflict with what others teach on the subject of presenting as a whole.
This is because I don't teach people to be performers, entertainers, or "rock stars" on a stage because, eventually, they would also need to teach people how to present.

 Hey Tim, I just wanted to check in and let you know what I've learned in "Professional Presenter," and it's really just changing my business. "My prospect was totally blown away by the professionalism of our meeting"
Hey Tim, I just wanted to let you know that I received a huge compliment from a prospect today, and I know it's a result of what I learned in your Pro Presenter.
I recently did a presentation for a prospect who answered an ad for our weight loss product. He's actually been in network marketing before and was very successful. In fact, he's been approached by many, many network marketers.

Hi. My name is Michele Matton. After three unsuccessful attempts in different network marketing companies, I am finally having success and my performance is so much better after studying Professional Presenter.
I didn't get much training in my previous MLM businesses. I just thought you buy products, say nothing, and try to get others to join you. But this time it's so much different for me, because now I have a precise structure to follow and know exactly what to say to my prospects and customers.
Presenting is fun now, and when I'm finished presenting my prospects want to know more.
Here's a quick list of what I know now, after studying Professional Presenter:

"What I really like are all the examples of how to handle the tough MLM objections.”
Hi, "Professional Presenter" is the most comprehensive and cohesive training I've ever studied.
It teaches you how to talk with someone about MLM. In fact, because of what I learned in "Professional Presenter," I was finally able to make headway with someone I signed up a couple of months ago.
Although enthusiastic at first, he hasn't done anything with the business in signing up. When I talked with him the other day I was able to finally flush out his unexpressed objection! He had one of those "ah-ha!" moments as I explained why MLM isn't a pyramid. This finally helped him get the idea that our business is legit and professional, and I think he'll engage now!
What I really like about "Professional Presenter" are all the examples of how to handle the tough MLM objections. The "Three Gears" and "Get in at the Beginning" models really resonated with me. I hadn't visualized them before, and now that I better understand them, I feel more comfortable talking about them with my prospects.
My goal with studying "Professional Presenter" was to be more competent in delivering content to prospects and feeling more professional in my interactions with people. And thanks to your comprehensive training, I'm definitely on my way there!

Hey Tim, it's Steve Swartz. You know I've been a student of yours for a very long time, and I've been doing great with what I've learned from you so far but I had to let you know that the Professional Presenter is actually filling in gaps that I didn't even know I had… gaps that really helped explain how to do a presentation.
One of the biggest things I got out of Professional Presenter is how to make my presentation completely personal to my prospect and now I understand what "present what's interesting to the prospect" really means.
Another thing for me is being able to watch you do one-on-one presentations. I realized for the first time that you weren't doing a "company presentation" with Jesse, you were doing a sea turtle presentation! You've taken the mystery out of what to say and how to say it!
Plus, I love all of your guidance about how to handle all of the objections. As a matter of fact, you came over a couple of new ones that really are going to help people tremendously, especially the whole "can I do it?" objection. That one should be mastered by everybody.
What I learned from Professional Presenter has made me feel more confident and competent in what I'm doing, and I'm excited to share this with my team. Once again, you've hit it out of the park. Professional Presenter, if you don't own it, buy it now!

"No one looked at the floor or played with their pencil… I knew everyone was listening."
Hi, my name is Arlene Hutchinson. I was introduced to Tim's materials four years ago. During that time, with study and practice, I have become good at inviting. But at a lot of my presentations, my prospects will tell me they need to talk with their spouse or they don't have the money just now or the timing is not right, you know the drill.
As I've studied the materials in Professional Presenter, Tim addressed these issues that were causing my prospects not to move forward. And as I dug deeper, I soon realized what I was doing wrong. I now have a deeper understanding of how to use the 10 communication skills to a higher level, more depth into observing with that third eye as to how and what the prospect feels. How to build that trust, so that you can make the prospect's life better.
In Professional Presenter you have the actual transcripts of Tim's teaching. This allows you to listen, follow along in the transcripts, markup your copy and make notes. You are able to go back and identify the six steps you do when doing a good presentation. Then as you watch Tim do a couple of presentations, you are able to identify when he does those steps in his presentations, how to handle objections, how he listens and alters what he says to the prospects so it meets the prospect's level of understanding. He models what you do when giving a presentation. He then leads or holds your hand as you are learning the material. Then he tests your understanding of the material. Invaluable.
Just let me give you a couple of examples that happened to me recently. The school district in our small community is doing a Healthy For Life program with the teachers. I have the privilege of going into the schools and do presentations to promote the program. For my first presentation, I outlined the points I wanted to cover. I memorized my scripts. As I gave the presentations and was rattling off all the points on my agenda, I noticed that some of the teachers were looking at the floor, messing with their pencils, skirmishing around in their chairs. I knew I was losing their attention. I talked louder and faster, but that didn't help. After the presentation I knew only half of the teachers listened to my message. I felt bad.
I studied Presenter. The next week my preparation for my presentation was different. I followed Tim's six steps to a good presentation. As I was giving my presentation, I applied my new knowledge of the 10 Communication Qualities. I stated my Global Overview, I made my point, and then educated the audience about the point. I showed a short clip about the statistics America was facing with poor health to support my point, and then I asked if they had any questions or if it made sense.
No one looked at the floor or played with their pencil. I could feel everyone looking at me and it felt good. I knew everyone was listening. I saw it in their faces and their conversations as they were leaving the meeting.
