From 19th century thinker/writer Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
Those are powerful words – Without enthusiasm you can’t achieve greatness.
So how do you translate that to inspiration? You just do it. Like Mr. Emerson says, “Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful and you will accomplish your object.”
So, here are a few practical steps:
- Be active. In your business. In talking with your team. In achieving your goals.
- Be energetic. Get enough sleep. Get your exercise. Keep a positive mindset. Have fun!
- Be enthusiastic. When you’re enthusiastic, you’ll show others your passion and inspire them automatically.
- Be faithful. Keep your eye on the prize. Believe you can do it. Turn negative thoughts into positive thoughts.
These four steps are what I believe (and Mr. Emerson believes) are the keys to being an inspiration for your team and potential team members.
